Training and Consultations

Consultations

Consultations

Are you dealing with a pooch that has behaviors you wish to change? If you have a pet that is counter surfing, chewing, digging, barking, pulling on leash, or is fearful or reactive, our trainer, Kera, would be more than happy to help you out. Consultations are here in the clinic and will include an hour with Kera, and then a comprehensive report sent to you afterwards, which will include further reading.

If your pet is dealing with separation anxiety, guarding, or aggressive behaviors a Veterinarian visit is required. The Vet will look more closely at the situation and help you decide whether a behavior modification plan would be the best path. Sometimes there are health issues behind the behavior. If it is a more intricate or severe case, you may be referred out to a behaviorist. Sometimes home visits/consultations are the best idea so they can see exactly what is going on and work more closely in the environment which the behavior is occurring.

Training

Classes

Pet Medical Center offers a variety of classes for you and your pooch. If you have a puppy or adult, fearful or a reactive dog there is something here for you.

To sign up we will have an application for you to fill out, and the payment of the class will hold your spot. If you have any questions about what is offered or which class would be best for you and your pup, give us a call.

Requirements

We require that all pets have their Rabies vaccination (4 month or older) and their Bordetella (kennel cough). All pets must also have their Distemper vaccines. If you have a puppy, they should have at least their first two Distemper boosters completed before the start of the 2nd class. We strongly recommend you protect your pet with a flea and tick preventative as well.

Once you have taken the Puppy Class you are also able to take other classes as well as join in on the fun of Play Times. If you have taken the Beginning Obedience Class with Kemlyn and Lesli you are able to take the Loose Leash Walking and Recalls classes. You can take the Fearful Fido or Reactive Rover classes after having spoken to either Kera or one Pet Medical Centers Veterinarians.

We will also discuss behaviors such as: chewing, nipping, digging, jumping, and more based on the needs of the class. The puppies will also get play time at the end of each class starting on week three. This will be in a controlled setting with only two puppies interacting at a time.
