Kera’s passion is dog behavior training. Originally from Rosemount, MN, Kera moved to Winona to attend Winona State University and obtained an English degree in 2009.
She also has a dog training certification from Certified Professional Dog Trainer-Knowledge Assessed (CPDT-KA), Animal Behavior College (ABCDT) and is a certified AKC Canine Good Citizen Evaluator. Kera is currently teaching dog training classes at Pet Medical Center, and does behavior consults as well. She is an APDT Professional Member and stays up to date by attending webinars and seminars. Her goals are to become a CTDI (Certified Trick Dog Instructor), as well as a CMT (Canine Massage Therapist).
Kera has three dogs; Tayla NTD (Novice Trick Dog title) an 8 year old Border Collie mix, Winston, a 10 year old Pug, and Lilypad (Lily), a 5 year old Spitz mix. She also has two cats named Pentax and Pixel, both around 7 years old. Kera enjoys fostering dogs when she is able to as well. Currently, she has Hyzer a terrier mix who has been nursed back from a lifetime of bad ears and negative associations. He now enjoys having his ears petted! When she is not spending time with her husband or pets, she also enjoys drawing and painting, listening to and playing music, T’ai Chi, dancing, hiking, watching movies, and reading.
